It is with great pleasure that today I'm announcing the inaugural year of Lost Evenings.
As a festival veteran and gigging machine, it's long been an ambition of mine to curate a large event of sorts that would bring together all my favourite things in one place - live music, all my friends and a sense of community. As an adopted son of Camden Town, we've decided that in 2017 we will play four nights at the iconic Roundhouse, as part of an in-city festival called Lost Evenings.
On May 12th, 13th, 14th and 15th, I will be playing on that hallowed stage. Each night will be a different set - a sort of greatest hits Medley on the first and last days, "Sleep Is For The Week" on the 13th (as part of the 10th anniversary of my debut album), and a special solo set for "Sensible Sundays" (the open mic night at the infamous Nambucca bar where it all started) on the 14th.
We have an amazing array of other artists lined up to play on that stage; but that's not all. We'll have a second stage featuring new acts, curated by me, Radio X's John Kennedy and OneFest. We are also planning a host of side events called 'Last Minutes' in other bars and venues around the area over the course of the festival, with more bands, theatre groups and charities.
I'm also proud to say that I'm partnering with OneFest for the event. OneFest do fantastic work in opening up the music industry to people from all backgrounds. We'll have workshops and discussion groups going on as well, trying to help demystify the business and open up opportunities for everyone.
Tickets go on sale this Friday; there will be a package deal for all four nights, as well as tickets for the individual evenings.
My team and I, and the OneFest crew, have been working hard behind the scenes to get all this ready for you, and I'm hugely excited about the whole thing. I think it's going to be a magical four days in the heart of Camden, sharing music and ideas and building our collective sense of community. I can't wait to see you all there in May 2017.
Tickets for OneFest and Frank Turner present Lost Evenings will go on sale at 10am on Friday 9th December from gigsandtours.com / ticketmaster.co.uk / roundhouse.org.uk
